Meet (Michael) Xavier Carrigan
|
Xavier Carrigan was born and raised in Bowling Green, Ohio, the son of a salesman and a university instructor. His mother, who taught at Bowling Green State University, instilled in him a lasting respect for education, intellectual curiosity, and public service. Those values have guided every chapter of his life.

His journey began behind a microphone in 1996 as a DJ and entertainer. What started as spinning records soon became a lifelong pursuit of connecting with people through sound, storytelling, and shared experience. By 2001, he was informally training coworkers and mentoring peers. In 2009, he formally stepped into the role of educator and found his true calling in helping others grow.

Xavier earned degrees from Owens Community College, Bowling Green State University, and The University of Findlay, where he completed his Master's in TESOL and Bilingual Education. Over the next decade, he taught English as a Second Language at institutions including Ohio State, Arizona State, Ohio Northern, Owens, and Findlay, as well as internationally in Japan, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia. His teaching approach has always been energetic, inclusive, and rooted in real-world connection.
|
Throughout his life, Xavier has worked across many fields including waiting tables, coaching, tech support, personal training, autonomous vehicle operation, customer service, umpiring, cooking, and even announcing and participating in combat sports. These roles sharpened his ability to adapt, communicate, and relate to people from all walks of life.
Today, Xavier works in change enablement, internal communications, and creative production. He helps organizations build stronger connections by developing training programs, crafting messaging strategies, and producing graphics and video content. Whether writing for leadership or voicing a training video, his work is still centered on empowerment through communication.

Now living in Iowa's 3rd Congressional District, Xavier is running for Congress to bring working-class perspective, educational insight, and creative problem-solving to Washington. He knows how disconnected politics has become from the people it claims to represent. He also knows what it means to rebuild, to hustle, and to fight for a better future.

Xavier is not a politician.
He is a teacher, communicator, and advocate who believes it is time for government to work for the people who make this country run. |
